Dangerous Animal Alert runs entirely in your browser at dangerousanimalalert.erbacciltd.com/app, where you sign in with a passwordless email code and get the complete product: your sightings timeline with snapshots, camera selection, per-species settings, plan and billing, and account deletion. Sighting alerts also arrive by email (on by default), so you are notified without installing anything.
Optional companion apps add push notifications to your phone:

is needed — the web console is the primary, fully featured way to use Dangerous Animal Alert.

No. Dangerous Animal Alert is used in the browser at dangerousanimalalert.erbacciltd.com/app — nothing to install, on any modern browser. That web console is the full product: sightings and snapshots, camera selection, per-species settings, plan, and account deletion. Alerts also arrive by email by default. Optional companion apps for iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play) add phone push notifications. If you use only the browser you lose nothing except phone push — the sightings and the alert emails are the same.
Yes. Dangerous Animal Alert is a separate subscription from your Ring Protect plan — Ring Protect and Ring Protect Pro do not include it. Dangerous Animal Alert is a third-party app on the Ring Appstore, made by Erbacci Ltd, with its own plan. Its terms are stated on the Ring Appstore listing and shown to you there. You add and manage it in the Ring app — Menu → My Apps → Dangerous Animal Alert — where it appears on its own, next to Ring Protect. Removing one does not remove the other.
Most missed notifications fall into one of three buckets: (a) the Ring camera didn't detect motion (check the Ring app first); (b) we classified the animal as one you have toggled off, or the event was debounced/snoozed; (c) if you use the Android app, the device push token was stale — sign out and sign back in to refresh it. Whatever happened to the push, open the web console: every sighting we recorded is in your timeline there, and the alert email is sent independently of push. Remember: detections may be delayed, missed, or inaccurate — Dangerous Animal Alert is an awareness tool, not a safety device.
The vision model occasionally miscounts or misidentifies — a large dog at night can read as a coyote, for example. Tap "Not a <species>" or "Not interesting" on the sighting; we use that feedback to tune future classification.
Ring outdoor cameras (backyard, driveway, or a doorbell facing the yard), already set up and working in the Ring app. Dangerous Animal Alert is outdoor-only and is not intended for indoor cameras.
No. The model classifies wild-animal species; it does not recognise, describe, or identify people, reads no license plates, and performs no facial recognition or biometric analysis.
